We currently operate using two of the most popular design software packages, Pro/Engineer and Solid Works. Three dimensional solid modeling, surfacing, and efficient communication to CNC manufacturing are the key benefits to using these design software packages.
Design Balance! Industrial designers and industrial design firms are commonly motivated by the glory of their artistic visions and the awards received for the artistic design. We agree that most are capable of producing aesthetically pleasing product designs but typically these products are not designed for easy, or low cost manufacture and assembly. We recognize the need for a visually pleasing design, however, we believe a balance between an attractive industrial design and functional mechanical design is the key to a successful product launch. By having an intimate understanding of the tooling, manufacturing and assembly requirements and associated costs, we can assist in making decisions on the cost vs. value of specific design features. Development Works will strike a ‘design balance’ that works for the project.
